Project Manager (O&M Production Support)

Key Responsibilities:
• Performs day-to-day management, possibly involving multiple tasks.
• Provides technical guidance to the project team in performance of the work and reviews the quality of work products.
• Create dashboards for the architecture at all levels utilizing available tools (for example, AppDynamics, Splunk)
• Operate Production support between tier-1 (ITOC), tier-2 (Prod support) and tier-3 (development team).
• Research tools and software solutions to further automate production support, monitoring and system recovery.
• Identify problems and come up with forward solutions utilizing modern technology standards.
• Identify manual production support tasks and processes that can be automated.
• Identify system enhancements to allow for greater automation and self-healing.
• Development of dashboards for executive level, senior manager level and technical team level.
• Detailed understanding of the IRS enterprise defect process, including IMR (Incident Management Resolution) and PMR (Program Management Resolution).
• Identification of auto-ticketing opportunities, including maturing existing auto-ticketing rules and Knowledge articles.
• Project planning, scheduling, and monitoring
• Managing data calls to include coordination, analysis, tracking, and data gathering Creating and updating project management plans to include resources, risk management, and other management controls to be employed to meet performance and schedule requirements
• Establishing and tracking project metrics, including storing all past incidents and performing agile retrospective to identify areas of improvement.
• Work with federated delivery teams to develop appropriate stories to ensure features are hardened for production and have appropriate levels of monitoring.
• Identify all necessary stories to identify root causes of production incidents. Work with the appropriate team to ensure prioritization and execution
• Conducting project status meetings with project stakeholders
• Support the Release Manger (RM) in executing and completing the Deployment Site Readiness Test (DSRT) Plan for the Production Environment for the product backlog items in each PI deployment every 9 weeks
• Provide input and recommendations to the IRS to update and maintain the DSRT playbook
• Work with the IRS RM in the Web Apps Delivery organization to update and tailor the Product Launch Go / No-Go Readiness Assessment Checklist for the product backlog items in each PI deployment every 9 weeks
• Assist the RM with tracking the completion of the checklist items to include coordinating with Web Apps IT and Business stakeholders to gather information of the status of checklist items
• Provide recommendations to refine and update product readiness assessment activities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• •Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Project Management, Cybersecurity, or related field.
Must have experience with the IRS Web Apps Program, IRS Web Application Development, Business Online Account (BOLA), and Individual Online Account (IOLA).
• •5 years of experience of production monitoring, automation, production support, leading edge management, day-to-day management.
• Production monitoring tools (AppDynamics or other)
• Logging Aggregator and Analyzer tools (Splunk, Elk, or other) 35 of 119
• Familiarity with Container Environments (Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS EKS or other) and associated monitoring tools (Kiali, Prometheus, Jaeger, Grafana or other)
Preferred experience:
• OpenShift, AWS EKS, Kubernetes , Service Mesh (ISTIO)
• Monitoring tools for OpenShift, Kubernetes, ISTIO and RHEL7 Virtual Machines (OpenShift Web Console, OpenShift CLI, AppDynamics, Kiali, Prometheus, Jaeger, Grafana)
• Splunk • Spring Boot (general knowledge)
Employment Type:
• Full Time, On-Site – Must be able to report on-site at client’s location, as required.
Security Clearance:
• Must have an active MBI Clearance in good standing.
• US Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident required.
