iCallidus is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to design, implement, and maintain efficient database systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in working within Agile teams and utilizing the latest database management tools, techniques, and methods to optimize performance, security, and scalability. This role requires an innovative mindset and the ability to operate in a fast-paced Agile and Lean development environment, ensuring seamless database updates and enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain relational and NoSQL database systems to support enterprise applications.
- Optimize database structures and queries for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Implement and enforce database security, backup, and recovery policies.
- Regularly deploy database updates and improvements in an Agile and Lean environment.
- Utilize industry-leading database management tools and methodologies for database monitoring, tuning, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, DevOps, and security professionals, to ensure efficient data management.
- Maintain compliance with Section 508, OWASP API, FISMA, NIST 800-53, and other relevant federal security policies.
- Work with cloud and on-premise database solutions, integrating with ServiceNow, MFA, and NED where applicable.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database performance, integrity, and security issues.
- Automate database deployments and manage CI/CD pipelines for database changes.
- Develop database documentation, including schema diagrams, data flow diagrams, and best practices guidelines.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Project Management, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in database administration, proficient in managing and optimizing database systems, ensuring data integrity, and implementing security measures.
- Experience working on Agile teams following iterative development methodologies, and utilizing latest database management tools, techniques, and methods for designing, implementing, and maintaining efficient database systems. Comfortable operating in an agile and lean environment to regularly deploy updates and improvements to database structures and performance.
- Strong expertise in modern database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Proficiency in database management tools and techniques for performance tuning and optimization.
- Experience deploying frequent database updates in Agile and Lean environments.
- Knowledge of database security best practices and compliance with federal security regulations.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as SQL, PowerShell, or Python for database automation.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) for database deployments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Experience integrating databases with web applications and APIs.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud-based database solutions (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, MongoDB Atlas, etc.).
- Certification in database technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MongoDB.
- Familiarity with Big Data, ETL processes, and data warehousing solutions.
Employment Type:
Full Time, on-site at client’s location.
Security Clearance:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Active MBI Clearance preferred.
