What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Writer position at iCallidus?
The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating and managing technical documentation, including user guides, system manuals, and compliance reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creating technical documents such as design specifications, diagrams, manuals, white papers, flowcharts, and reports.
- Translate technical details from technical experts into clear documentation for the intended audience.
- Coordinating graphics and overseeing document production to ensure visual appeal and informativeness.
- Ensures all content meets high standards for technical accuracy, grammar, punctuation, readability, and formatting.
- Develop comprehensive technical documentation for software applications, security policies, and system architectures.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Section 508 and federal accessibility guidelines.
- Collaborate with developers, system engineers, and business analysts.
- Maintain version-controlled documentation in Confluence, SharePoint, or Git.
- Conduct periodic reviews to keep documentation up to date.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience collaborating with developers, testers, analysts, and other technical experts to create and deliver concise and effective technical documentation for application support activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Project Management, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- Proficiency in Markdown, XML, Adobe FrameMaker, and MS Office Suite.
- Experience working with government contracts and security documentation.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Employment Type:
Full Time, on-site at client’s location.
Security Clearance:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Active MBI Clearance preferred.
US Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident required.
