Job Summary :
This is a principal architect role responsible for translating requirements into architecture designs that guide the development and implementation of business solutions, while adhering to established design patterns and guiding principles defined by the enterprise architects' body. The role also requires enterprise security expertise, configuration and build automation expertise, software architecture expertise, and leadership skills. The role is instrumental in bringing innovative ideas to fruition. The architect provides deep technical knowledge and architectural design mentorship at an infrastructure, network, cloud, platform, and program level.
Key Responsibilities & Duties :
- Accountable for infrastructure design of large and / or architecturally significant IT initiatives.
- Accountable to lead project managers as well as the business team with project infrastructure requirements, costing, and work breakdown.
- Accountable for architecture oversight and sign-off on the detailed designs produced for internal or external services.
- Responsible for providing recommendations on continuous integration and delivery infrastructure.
- Serve as an architectural or subject matter expert advisor to senior IT management, and mentor junior level technical staff within multiple functional areas of the IT organization.
- Aligning efforts with central architecture function to influence technical standards and progress enterprise objectives.
- Working with ICANN Platform owners, engineers, and other architects to guide / create technical Enterprise Architecture framework.
- Develop architectural framework for networks, compute, and storage for both on-premises and cloud / hybrid technologies to establish design, operations, and support principles.
- Work closely with the enterprise architects' body to ensure standard solutions and technologies are correctly leveraged.
- Partner with business stakeholders to design next generation technology solutions, while continuing to support existing business capabilities on legacy systems.
- Accountable for the infrastructure design, configuration, documentation, and maintenance of any assigned systems.
- Supervise the work of team members with respect to assigned infrastructure and projects to ensure best practice and on-time delivery.
- Drive programs to effectively monitor and measure the productivity and efficiency of our workforce.
- Responsible for development of any required automation software development and documentation.
- Responsible for infrastructure lifecycle planning.
- Maintain appropriate growth statistics, resource capacity forecasts, service inventory, and infrastructure inventory.
- Provide final technical support escalation on any infrastructure related issues.
- Proven ability to influence and gain trust at a peer group in business and technology levels in a multi-culture environment.
