What are the responsibilities and job description for the MDS Consultant position at iCare Services?
The MDS/RESTORATIVE Consultant is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of all Medicare/Medicaid case-mix documents to assure appropriate reimbursement for care and services provided within the Facilities. Regional MDS/restorative Consultant provides support, education, and training to the MDS Coordinators and restorative nurses in the facilities on the RAI process in accordance with the laws, regulation and company standards. The Regional MDS/restorative consultant will collaborate with facility’s IDT to ensure excellent survey outcomes and exceptional quality of care for the residents we serve. Consultant should have excellent interpersonal skills who is adaptable and dependable. Experience as MDS/Restorative Director required.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain and monitor compliance with state and federal rules and regulations related to RAI.
- Oversees the reimbursement processes over multiple facilities
- Conducts weekly Case Mix and Medicare meetings at multiple facilities
- Oversee and provide support to facility MDS Nursing team to ensure the timely and accurate completion of the RAI process
- Audits routinely to ensure compliance
- Oversee accuracy of facility care plan process
- Able to conduct training regarding the MDS, reimbursement, and restorative processes.
- Knowledgeable in Quality Measures
- Support assigned facilities in creating action plans.
- Fill in for vacancies, as needed
- Document facility visits and findings.
- Oversee Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement to ensure accurate scoring with timely supportive documentation
- Oversees restorative programming for accuracy in accordance with regulations
Job Requirements
- Active IL RN or LPN licensure prefer MDS and rehabilitation credentials
- 1-3 years’ experience in MDS and/or restorative in long-term care
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Energetic, professional with exceptional interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication & customer service skills
- Detail oriented
- Team player
