What are the responsibilities and job description for the Care Coordinator/Behavioral Health Tech position at Icarus Behavioral Health Idaho?
We are hiring Care Coordinators also known as BHTs or MHTs to manage and maintain the safety of our patients. Care Coordinators are viewed as the heartbeat of a multidisciplinary team that provides direct inpatient and outpatient care to adults (18 ) with mental health and/or substance use disorders.
- Build rapport with patients, clinical staff, and medical staff.
- Observe patients and ensure safety while in treatment.
- Assist clinical and medical staff with intakes, orientations, and daily operations.
- Assist in Self-Administered Medication.
- Conduct and document individual's vitals and report all questionable results to medical staff. Conduct and document all BAC and urine drug screens.
- Document all services and significant individual interactions in the electronic health record. Monitor and document patients’ status every 15 minutes.
- Responsible for maintaining and ensuring the cleanliness of the facility.
- Facilitate group sessions.
- Demonstrate positive role modeling for the clients through mentoring and coaching while utilizing recovery skills.
- Transport patients to and from any outside appointments when needed.
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- Ability to perform data collection accurately for ongoing assessments of patient progress.
- Compassionate approach towards individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders, demonstrating empathy and understanding towards patients' needs, while maintaining strong boundaries.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
