Icarus' mission is to restore the quality of life our patients suffering from knee pain. We are an innovative, collaborative, and purpose-driven biotech company located in Downtown Charlottesville. We have developed a new class of bracing that takes weight off the joint to relieve pain and is custom-manufactured locally from a 3D scan.
The Customer Service and Billing Specialist has the mission critical role of ensuring that our patients receive world-class support for their products and billing needs. The goal is to ensure that every patient has the best possible outcome and can receive their brace at an affordable cost through insurance.
The right candidate for the job puts the patient first, is excited about generating impact through technology, is highly organized, can use basic software, and is relentlessly positive.
The Customer Service and Billing Specialist is primarily responsible for maximizing customer experience of both direct patients and clinical accounts. They are a proactive problem solver that is passionate about maximizing patient care, and ensures that every interaction is highly positive. Aspects of the role including managing patient complaints, distributing and collecting outcomes and experience surveys, and troubleshooting for when customer experiences do not meet our standards. The role interfaces with Icarus' sales, billing and manufacturing departments to properly route corrective actions to the appropriate department. You will also work closely with the billing department to support order entry and collections from insurance.
You will also learn to work with a customer relationship manager (CRM) in automating, tracking, and optimizing the process. Please highlight if you have any prior customer service, CRM (Hubspot in particular), or patient insurance processing experience. The position requires clear communication, time management, and process management skills. Basic technical skills including spreadsheet management are appreciated.
