POSITION PURPOSE:
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for working in collaboration with the Medical Director and Medical Team to provide treatment for all clients. In addition to working with the Medical team, PMHNPs are responsible for clinical collaboration to insure safe and effective client care. This is a part-time position (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday).
SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO POSITION
- Meet with all new clients and assist the clinical team to build the client’s treatment plan. When meeting with the clients for the first time, a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation must be completed.
- Complete comprehensive psychiatric and medical assessments.
- Diagnose clients who have psychiatric complications and continue treatment for each diagnosis.
- Medication management for clients who are already prescribed medications at admission or medication prescribed with us.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient’s specific needs.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members when making appropriate referrals.
- Medication management of Psychiatric & MAT Medications.
- Patient education
