Job Summary
The Designer role provides support to engineers by designing and modeling piping, mechanical and equipment layouts. This role will assist engineers in the field, accompanying them to worksites and is expected to work in a team environment and coordinate with other engineering teams on projects.
Major Responsibilities and Essential Functions

- Provide expertise in various aspects of piping, engineering and equipment layout design as well as other functions as required.
- Create and edit existing P&ID’s, isometric and other engineering drawings.
- Develop 3D piping, structural and equipment models.
- Utilize laser scanning equipment on-site to assist in creating 3D models.
- Set up specification sheets for projects.
- Travel to assist engineers in design work.
- Plan and section drawings.
- Participate in team project meetings.
- Prepare technical information for peers, teams and clients.
- Actively participate in a working environment where teamwork, quality, and innovation are highly valued.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Working Conditions
This position is located at the LyondellBasell base in Clinton, IA. This position routinely operates in a professional office environment with the potential for travel and on-site start-up time. Start-ups may include working environments such as factory floors where industrial machinery is present and in operation.

This role requires the employee to occasionally stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
