What are the responsibilities and job description for the Consumer Loan Underwriting Manager position at ICCU?
Manages the day-to-day operations of consumer loan Underwriting. Recommend new methods and procedures to create an environment that is efficient and performing at maximum capacity to assist in meeting the company’s financial and member service objectives. Owns and/or assists in projects pertaining to consumer loan products.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coach, and develop the underwriting team.
- Supervise quality control for the underwriting team.
- Assist in the mentoring and development of manager trainees
- Supervise department owned reporting
- Supervise ECOA compliance within Consumer Lending, partner with other internal departments to manage and monitor automation of ECOA process.
- Analyze delinquent loan trends
- Assist in building and testing updates of matrices/rules of loan origination system decisioning function
- Focus on improving team’s service level to team members.
- Manage productivity and workflow efficiency.
- Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and vendor opportunities.
- Manage special Credit Union projects as necessary.
- Assist in vendor management and relations.
- Troubleshoot service issues and find solutions.
- Provide backup support to the underwriting team as needed.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and previous management experience preferred. Lending experience preferred. Excellent math skills and computer knowledge. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ten key, data entry, and typing experience. Ability to always maintain the confidentiality of Credit Union and member records.

Must comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by Idaho Central Credit Union.
Physical Requirements:
- Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, collating, typing, counting cash, etc.).
- Sit for extended periods of time.
- Lift 20-40 pounds of applicable supplies including but not limited to copy paper, cash drawers, marketing material, etc.
- Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Reach keyboards.
- Ability to operate basic office machines (calculator, computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).
