RECRUITER SIS

Share Ice Services (SIS) is searching for an experienced Recruiter to join our HR team. This role will assist in identifying hiring needs and filling job openings for both Nichols Brothers Boat Builders (NBBB) and Everett Ship Repair (ESR). Based at our Everett shipyard, the Recruiter will also travel regularly to the Nichols shipyard in Freeland, WA. SIS is the umbrella company that supports NBBB and ESR, both of which are vital to Ice Cap Holdings’ strong presence in the Pacific Northwest maritime community.

As a Recruiter you will work closely with the hiring managers regarding their needs, source candidates, conduct initial phone screens, administer our applicant tracking system, conduct in-person interviews, refer qualified candidates, design job descriptions, and work with management to identify future hiring needs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with human resources, hiring manager and supervisors to identify staffing requirements.
• Update and maintain the Applicant Tracking System on a daily and hourly basis.
• Create job listings and advertise through appropriate channels to attract qualified candidates, including through specialty recruiting. websites, targeted associations and schools, social media sites, and/or other creative media approaches.
• Source candidates through online research, databases and social media, referrals, outreach campaigns, phone work and local resources.
• Participate in appropriate job fairs, educational campus and military recruitment events or similar networking activities.
• Review applicant information to determine candidate qualifications and skillsets and ensure their skill level is top quality, conduct phone or in-person interviews and make recommendations.
• Coordinate with Humam resources to perform criminal background check and other pre-employment testing requirements.
• Prepare periodic reports on recruitment status, useful strategies, employment trends and recommendations on acquiring qualified applicants, increasing candidate flow, and building an “stable” of future hires.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Management or similar preferred; however, the right individual with a high school diploma or GED will be considered depending on experience and qualifications
• 3 to 5 years of recruiting experience in a fast-paced work environment, preferably in the maritime, shipbuilding or industrial recruiting arena
• Ability to engage candidates and internal customers with equal enthusiasm
• Responsive, high-energy and goal-oriented, with excellent analytical skills

• Able to travel to project locations on South Whidbey Island and Snohomish County and to partner organizations in neighboring counties to host and coordinate job fairs and/or assess staffing needs through dialogue with project managers or other site personnel
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Excellent Interpersonal skills, organization skills and detail orientation
• Experience with a wide variety of recruiting tools, including Linked In, Indeed, and HRIS recruiting modules
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrable success in recruitment and staffing of skilled labor crafts, such as insulator, marine carpenter/joiner, piping, plumbing, HVAC, sheet metal, electrical and light structural fitting and welding. 
• Direct experience with construction craft labor recruitment, preferably in a shipyard or similar heavy industrial environment. 
• Bilingual, with ability to transact simple exchanges with Spanish-speaking candidates who have English as their second language. 

• Basic knowledge of shipyard trades work, which could include welding processes and techniques; steel fabrication, pipe work, electrician or painter trades.
