Job Summary :
The Financial Analyst will primarily be responsible for compiling, analyzing and reporting the financial performance of the Firm. The role requires an understanding of the firm's data source and a keen attention to the firm's metric definitions. The financial analyst's secondary responsible areas include ad-hoc reporting requests, supporting the firm's seasonal projects such as budget compilation, bonus cycle calculations and reporting, year-end statistic reporting and preparation of annual law firm surveys. Reporting deadlines are critical to this position; therefore, open communication, proactiveness and collaboration skills are key for the success of this position. The financial analyst team member will work collaboratively with accounting team members and various others within the firm. The team member should be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive materials and maintain strict confidentiality due to the nature of the position.

Essential Job Duties :
Coordinate and perform the monthly financial system / software close schedule, including completion of the reconciliation of the firm's financial system.Process, analyze and distribute financial statements and reports, including the monthly partner and practice group packets, the operational department actual to budget reports and various other timekeeper metric reports.Key contributor in the firm's annual budget preparations, primarily the firm's revenue by timekeeper calculations, including timekeeper full time equivalent counts and reconciliation to the compensation budget. The financial analyst will utilize the firm's budgeting software to distribute, compile and analyze the budget contributions from others. Financial forecasts and variance analysis is centric to the position.Coordinates the monthly close process and prepare monthly firm P&L statements against budget and prior year results.Prepare monthly key performance indicator schedules to be distributed to partners and firm leadership.Prepare annual law firm surveys as deemed appropriate by firm leadership.Prepare ad-hoc reports and data analysis for attorneys, other operational teams, legal assistants, and clients.Identify areas of improvement for financial systems, including full understanding and documentation of where data is stored.Monitor financial performance of individual departments and the division as a whole and liaison with practice group leaders to implement corrective actions based on analysis.Monitor and reconcile the firms' dashboards with our operating system (3E).Manage projects assigned by the Manager of Financial Analysis, the Chief and Accounting Directors and the COO.Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other related fieldThree or more years of experience in financial analysis or related accounting areasPrevious experience in the legal industry a plusPrevious experience with 3E and / or Iridium preferredProficient in Microsoft Office productsAbility to multi-task and effectively manage timeStrong attention to detailAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and to prioritize duties and use good judgmentStrong interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with a diverse group of people, both on the phone and in person.
