What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supply Chain Buyer position at Iceberg Enterprises, LLC?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Buyer is responsible for procuring all necessary raw materials, components, supplies and packaging in assigned categories to support the company’s production schedules by ensuring that orders are placed and delivered in a timely manner. The Buyer is responsible for securing these materials at competitive cost and quality levels consistent with the company’s business objectives and performance standards. Job Expectations:
· Perform analysis and monitor inventory levels including review of MRP system reports, production plans and sales forecasts
· Understand Pull Systems along with Visual Management inventory systems
· Participate in daily production planning meetings
· Working knowledge of imports and HTS codes
· Generate purchase orders for items as required by the production plan and MRO items
· Monitor shipments so goods come in on time and resolve problems related to undelivered goods including expediting purchase orders. Notify departments of the expected delivery date and status of back orders.
· Utilize problem solving skills to identify and fix root causes for problematic suppliers.
· Interview current suppliers to determine supply capabilities,
· Identify/Qualify Potential Suppliers- Determine Supply Capabilities; Secure and analyze quotations, negotiate prices and terms; and recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery competitiveness consistent with company objectives
· Provide all required documentation to support purchase recommendations and obtains the proper approvals prior to purchase. Ensures overall compliance with procurement policies and procedures
· Act as primary contact for suppliers and internal customers for all assigned categories. Develop relationships with those suppliers and customers
· Coordinate, as appropriate, quality matters, engineering changes/developments and other issues and projects between company and suppliers
· Ensure proper reimbursement for and disposition of non-conforming materials
· Manage/develop supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance with regard to cost, quality, technology and service.
· Participate in supplier facility audits
· Maintain accurate purchase, price, and total cost data on applicable company systems
· Assist in the resolution of paperwork discrepancies with Accounting and Shipping departments, and as required with suppliers.
· Track all deviations and rejections for specified production items in a timely manner.
· Coordinate and complete special projects as assigned by Director Supply Chain
· Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
· Performs any other job related function

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in business or related field,
· 3 years’ experience in procurement in production environment
· Analytical and problem solving skills
· Proficient with Excel/PowerPoint
· Superior organizational and time-management skills - diligent and detailed-oriented
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written)
· Proven ability to plan, manage and execute/prioritize multiple projects
· Ability to work independently and cooperatively
· Import experience required
· Familiar with ISO/QS
· Proficient with ERP systems and Lean/Pull systems
· Understanding of Approved Suppliers List
Physical Requirements:
· Required to sit or stand for long periods of time.
· May occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
· Working in an office environment with exposure to manufacturing areas.
· Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
· Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
· Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $62,000.00 - $76,500.00 per year
