What to Expect (Job Responsibilities) : Develop and implement cohesive communications and outreach strategies aligned with agency mission and goalsCreate outreach materials, press releases, newsletters, and social media content tailored to target audiencesAssist federal staff in crisis communication by drafting accurate and timely responses to media inquiriesSupport the planning and coordination of events, including logistics, venue selection, and promotional materialsConduct post-event evaluations to identify challenges and successes, providing recommendations for future improvements
What is Required (Qualifications) : Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, communications, public relations, or related field; or 3 years of experience in a similar roleMinimum 1 year of experience developing communication packages, strategies, or plans for an organization or projectAt least 1 year of experience supporting an Office on Trafficking in Persons (OTIP) and / or Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) programStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilitiesProficient with MS Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications) : Experience in event planning and executionKnowledge of 508 compliance standardsEducation and / or experience related to race equity, diversity, and inclusion strategies in human servicesFamiliarity with the challenges faced by refugees, immigrants, and asyleesPrevious experience working for a refugee / migrant program
