ST Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM | 32 hours per week
The Surgical Technician (ST), under the guidance of the Registered Nurse (RN) , is responsible for the care and treatment of patients undergoing cesarean birth in the Operating Room and for patients having vaginal births in the LDRPP rooms. The ST is also responsible for cleaning, restocking, and general maintenance of equipment and supplies on The Birth Place. Has full access to patient health information. May have access to medication storage areas (excluding controlled substances) as related to job responsibilities.

Requirements
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Graduate of an approved program for Surgical Technicians.
- Possesses a thorough knowledge of principles and practice of surgical asepsis.
- Certification in BCLS.
- Successful completion of a hospital and unit-specific orientation which includes age and population specific skills for the area of practice in which the ST will be working and addresses the growth and development needs for the patients for whom the ST will be providing care.
- Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
