Host/Hostess

Ichiban Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar is looking for a friendly, outgoing, and customer-focused Host/Hostess to join our team in Taylor, MI. As the first point of contact for our guests, the Host/Hostess plays a crucial role in creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring an exceptional dining experience from the moment they walk in the door.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and welcome guests as they enter the restaurant with a warm and friendly attitude.
• Manage the reservation system and ensure guests are seated in a timely manner.
• Provide guests with accurate wait times and maintain an organized waiting list.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized front-of-house area.
• Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth service.
• Answer the phone and assist with takeout orders, reservations, or general inquiries.
• Ensure guests are comfortable and attend to any special requests promptly.
• Uphold Ichiban’s high standards of customer service and professionalism.

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Ability to handle stressful situations with grace and professionalism.
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
