POSITION PURPOSE:
Responsible for all aspects of the ethanol plant operations and financial results. Includes production, maintenance, shipping and receiving, and quality control to ensure maximum financial results, by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
- Coordinate Management of plant operations, maintenance, shipping and receiving, and quality control.
- Coordinate plant activities through planning with departmental supervisors to ensure that total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Approve hiring of all plant personnel.
- Develop and maintain the culture of the company. Maintain programs and policies to ensure a highly effective and motivated workforce. Establish goals and KPIs to achieve a high performance, team-oriented culture.
- Participate in preparation of the operation budget and is responsible for operation of plant within the budget. Initiate, gain approval, and carry out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
- Ensure all city, county, state, and federal regulatory compliance are met at all times.
- Direct, maintain, and enforce the safety program for all plant equipment and personnel; review safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all plant employees. Strive to be a top third industry safety leader.
- Support and continue to develop cutting edge training initiatives for plant personnel.
- Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment, replacing or making adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary; establish and maintain spare parts inventory.
- Facilitate communication among all departments, provide regular guidance and expectations.
- Build and maintain a positive relationship with LifeLine Foods management, coordinating campus activities, safety and security.
- Collaborate with ICM, Inc. around projects, finances and human resource activities.
- Review reports from supervisors, provide ICM leadership weekly updated reports.
- Participate in maintenance planning to determine and plan required projects, status of ongoing projects, and scheduling of future projects.
- Conduct employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of the supervisory staff; set guidelines and monitor the procedures used by supervisors to conduct their evaluations.
- Establish policies and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness.
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training plant employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor degree from four-year college or university preferred
Required Knowledge & Experience:
- 10 years experience in ethanol plant production (preferably dry-grind), industrial process operations, or equivalent combination of education and experience in processing required
- In-depth knowledge of ethanol production process and technology preferred
- Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements. Previous leadership and supervisory experience required
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required
- Knowledge of general office equipment required
