POSITION PURPOSE :
This position is responsible for analysis, specification and implementation of technical products, equipment and systems. This position will assist process engineers with approvals for equipment purchase, P&ID reviews, tank and vessel reviews and approvals to build shop and vendor built equipment, and other engineering tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES :
- The Process Engineering Associate (PEA) is responsible for project specific equipment specifications and ensures compliance with the procedures of ICM as they relate to safety, design validation, vendor qualification, fabrication, inspection, installation, documentation, recording, publishing and issuing equipment designs (Books 1-8 & 10-15) to ICM or external customers.
- Perform equipment engineering design evaluations and recommend alterations to development or designs to improve quality of products or procedures.
- Work closely with process engineers as equipment specifications are developed, revised and approved.
- Maintain equipment specification records that transform engineered design into a repeatable saleable product.
- Research and develop new and improved equipment recommendations and specifications.
- Review documents submitted by vendors who supply the equipment specified and collaborate with vendors and engineers to resolve differences between equipment specifications and proposed equipment submitted for approval.
- Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously based on shifting priorities and workload as assigned and directed by assigned project manager and process engineer.
- Develop an understanding of ICM processes.
Education / Certification :
Bachelor degree in chemical or mechanical engineering preferred
Required Knowledge & Experience :
0-2 years process engineering or related experience required. Knowledge of commonly used
concepts, practices and procedures in an industrial environment.
Skills / Abilities :
Possess excellent computer skills utilizing MS Office products and Adobe
Familiar with AutoCAD software
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION :
Must possess current, valid driver’s license with no restrictions. Travel up to 10% required.
