Analytics Accountant
Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to join our team as an Analytics Accountant. In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial data, providing insightful analysis, and supporting decision-making through advanced data analysis and reporting. The Analytics Accountant will work closely with the finance team and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting, identify trends, and contribute to business strategy.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze and interpret financial data to provide actionable insights for senior management and other stakeholders.
• Develop financial models to forecast trends, assess financial health, and guide business strategy.
• Conduct variance analysis and identify the reasons behind discrepancies in financial results.
• Collaborate with other departments to understand the financial impact of operational decisions.
• Analysis of payroll functions including benefits, hourly and salary employees.
• Prepare detailed financial reports, dashboards, and presentations that highlight key performance indicators (KPIs) and business trends.
• Create and present analytical reports to executives and management teams, helping to inform strategic decision-making.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and periodic financial statements.
• Develop and maintain accurate budgets based on historical data and current business conditions.
• Support the forecasting process by providing insights into potential future trends and financial performance.
• Help monitor and track budget performance, suggesting adjustments when necessary.
• Utilize financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, SAP, Oracle, Power BI) to manage, analyze, and report financial data.
• Work with accounting software and databases to ensure data accuracy and consistency across financial reports.
• Continuously improve and optimize financial systems and processes to enhance the efficiency of reporting and analysis.
• Ensure that all financial reporting is in compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Assist in audits and ensure financial records are organized and readily available.
• Work with cross-functional teams to integrate financial data with other business processes, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
• Management of customer relationships within Accounts Receivable.
• Management of vendor relationships within Accounts Payable.
• Knowledge of month-end requirements and deadlines.
• Assisting in processing of accounts payable and receivable.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (and/or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience as an accountant, financial analyst, or in a similar role with a strong focus on data analysis (5 years preferred).
• Proven experience with diverse customer and vendor base, preferably international.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting processes.
• Experience with financial analysis tools, ERP systems, presentations and advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large datasets.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to present complex data to non-financial stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quickbooks) and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Excel).
• Knowledge of accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS) and financial compliance.
