We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with expertise in hydraulics to join our FAA-certified repair station. The ideal candidate will have experience in avionics hydraulic systems, repair and overhaul processes, component testing, and regulatory compliance. This role involves supporting MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) operations, developing repair procedures, and ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support repair and overhaul procedures for aircraft hydraulic components and mechanical components per the OEM CMM
- Troubleshoot and analyze hydraulic system failures to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Provide engineering support for hydraulic units being repaired, tested, and certified per the CMM.
- Work closely with technicians, inspectors, and quality control teams to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, AS9110, and company policies.
- Using OEM CMM implement new capabilities for new component repairs for additional units.
- Conduct performance testing and evaluation of hydraulic components using test benches and diagnostic tools per the CMM.
- Research and implement improvements in hydraulic repair processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with FAA Part 145 repair station regulations and assist in regulatory audits.
- Collaborate with suppliers and OEMs to source replacement parts and materials.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in avionics hydraulic systems, repair station operations, or aerospace MRO.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic principles, fluid mechanics, and system design.
- Familiarity with FAA Part 145 regulations, technical orders, and maintenance manuals.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA) for component design and analysis.
- Experience with hydraulic test stands, troubleshooting tools, and non-destructive testing methods.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and service bulletins.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
