Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Engineering Technician to join our FAA-certified repair station. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical assembly, machining, wiring, and soldering. This role requires proficiency in using various hand tools and testing equipment, as well as the ability to handle and assemble complex electrical and mechanical components.
Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical and mechanical assembly of aviation equipment, ensuring compliance with FAA standards.
- Assemble and route harnesses and cables, including crimping and terminating connectors.
- Utilize machining techniques such as drilling, filing, and cutouts for component fabrication.
- Conduct soldering of wires and PCBs, ensuring high-quality connections.
- Operate multimeters and other test equipment for troubleshooting and validation of electrical assemblies.
- Use hand and power tools (drill, saw, hammer, wire strippers, etc.) to complete mechanical modifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams to complete assembly tasks.
- Handle and carry heavy equipment and components as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and FAA regulations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in mechanical and electrical assembly within an aviation, aerospace, or related field.
- Strong hands-on skills in machining, cutouts, drilling, and filing.
- Experience with wiring harnesses, connectors, and electrical/electronic equipment assembly.
- Proficiency in using mechanical tools, multimeters, pin crimpers, wire strippers, and cutters.
- Skilled in soldering wires and printed circuit boards (PCBs).
- Ability to read and follow technical schematics and engineering drawings.
- Physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy equipment as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an FAA repair station or aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations and quality control procedures.
- Certification in soldering, wiring, or electronics assembly is a plus.
