Admission Counselor
Icon Art Academy seeks an College Counselor to guide young artists through top university admissions and portfolio development. This role supports students in understanding the college application process, building strong extracurricular profiles, and crafting standout portfolios. The ideal candidate is passionate about art education, has experience with elite admissions, and demonstrates strong organizational and writing skills.
Responsibilities:
College Counseling & Admissions Support:
- Guide students on top university admissions, especially in art/design programs.
- Advise on extracurricular planning, internships, and volunteer opportunities.
- Support Admission Essays and artist statement writing with strong editing skills.
Portfolio Development & Artistic Growth:
- Lead regular sessions to review and refine student portfolios.
- Create individualized portfolio strategies aligned with college requirements.
- Track progress to meet portfolio and application deadlines.
Extracurricular & Artistic Engagement:
- Help students engage in meaningful activities that enhance their resumes.
- Connect with community partners to provide students with unique artistic opportunities.
Collaboration & Teaching:
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff for a holistic approach.
- Teach specialized art classes, fostering a supportive critique environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s in Fine Arts, Education, or related field.
- Experience: Knowledge of top university admissions, Art programs.
- Skills: Strong organization, communication, and writing abilities.
- Background: Art major preferred, with a passion for student development.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong communication skill
- Knowledge of College admission
- Bilingual proficiency (English, Chinese, and Korean) is a plus.
