Job Summary :
The Capital Projects Portfolio Manager is responsible for developing, scheduling, monitoring, and enhancing the performance of the capital projects portfolio within the business area. This role entails the management and execution of external contracts, business plans, and budgets in alignment with company policies and regulations. The Portfolio Manager will collaborate with Project Leaders and management to address project, program, and portfolio scheduling conflicts while coordinating necessary technical support. The position requires performing complex tasks that demand independent knowledge, application to diverse situations, and sound judgment and decision-making. The manager will also support the tracking of action items and lead process improvement initiatives, acting as a liaison within ##### Energy, as well as with external organizations, vendors, and elected officials.
Key Responsibilities :
- Create and maintain comprehensive schedules for projects, programs, and portfolios.
- Monitor, track, and recommend solutions for scheduled tasks and resource conflicts.
- Evaluate and report on the performance of projects, programs, and portfolios.
- Identify and document process improvements necessary for enhancing project and portfolio management.
- Oversee and facilitate divisional meetings to tackle key project and program issues.
- Assist in the development and delivery of training related to processes or projects / programs / portfolios.
- Generate administrative and technical reports to support efficiency and accuracy in resource management.
- Define and implement participant roles and responsibilities in projects, programs, and portfolios.
- Develop and present guidelines for project / program / portfolio processes.
- Collaborate with Project Leaders in managing schedules for projects, programs, and portfolios.
- Undertake additional project and process improvement initiatives as required.
- Serve as the administrator for the Project Management (PM) Database.
- Report on portfolio schedule progress and risks to management, along with recommendations for risk mitigation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
