Position Overview:
As an Optometrist at Icon Eye Care, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive eye exams, diagnosing visual conditions, and offering tailored treatment plans. The ideal candidate is someone who is not only skilled in clinical eye care but also committed to building strong relationships with patients and providing a high level of care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive Eye Exams: Conduct thorough eye exams for patients of all ages, diagnosing refractive errors, eye diseases, and other visual conditions.
- Patient Care: Provide personalized treatment plans for patients, including prescribing glasses, contact lenses, and managing ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and dry eye.
- Seeing 25 Patients Per Day: Maintain a busy schedule with a goal of seeing 25 patients per day while ensuring quality care and attention to each individual.
- Diagnostic Testing: Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment to assess eye health, including OCT, retinal imaging, visual field testing, and tonometry.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on their eye health, explaining conditions, treatment options, and preventative care.
- Collaborate with the Team: Work closely with optical staff, front desk, and technicians to ensure a seamless patient experience from check-in to follow-up care.
- Contact Lens Fittings: Conduct fittings for contact lenses, including specialty lenses and managing related follow-up care.
- Ocular Disease Management: Diagnose and manage various ocular conditions, including managing patients with diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, and other eye diseases.
- Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with the latest in optometry practices, treatments, and technology.
- Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Establish rapport with patients, ensuring they feel valued, heard, and cared for during their visits.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid state optometry license (or the ability to obtain one).
- Previous experience as an optometrist is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, seeing 25 patients a day while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
- Knowledge of the latest diagnostic technologies and treatment options in optometry.
- A compassionate and professional attitude, with a focus on patient care and education.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Must be able to speak spanish.
