The Operations Manager at ICON Vehicle Dynamics is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing, production, and logistics operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery. This role works cross-functionally with leadership, production teams, and supply chain partners to drive continuous improvement, optimize workflows, and maintain high-performance standards. The Operations Manager will lead teams, manage resources, and implement strategies that align with ICON’s commitment to innovation, quality, and performance in suspension manufacturing.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Oversee day-to-day manufacturing, assembly, and distribution operations to ensure production goals are met.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall performance.
- Collaborate with department leads, engineers, and supply chain teams to streamline processes.
- Ensure adherence to production schedules while maintaining ICON’s quality and performance standards.
- Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks within production, assembly, and logistics operations.
- Develop and implement lean manufacturing initiatives, including one-piece flow, optimize production efficiency, minimize batch processing, and improve throughput.
- Standardize processes and establish best practices to ensure consistency and repeatability across departments.
- Drive continuous improvement projects using methodologies such as Kaizen, 5S, and Six Sigma principles to enhance workflow and reduce waste.
- Utilize data-driven decision-making to analyze production metrics and recommend process adjustments for improved performance.
- Work closely with engineering and quality teams to improve product manufacturability and reduce defects or rework.
- Evaluate work cell layouts, material flow, and equipment utilization to support a streamlined one-piece flow system where applicable.
- Champion automation and technology enhancements where applicable to increase efficiency and reduce manual errors.
- Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors, leads, and production teams to maximize productivity and engagement.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational success.
- Drive accountability across teams, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency targets are met.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
- Work closely with procurement and logistics teams to ensure raw materials, components, and finished goods are available as needed.
- Optimize inventory levels to balance cost control and production demands.
- Address supply chain challenges and work on vendor partnerships to improve efficiency.
- Ensure all operations comply with OSHA regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Promote and enforce safety initiatives to maintain a secure working environment.
- Partner with quality teams to uphold ICON’s reputation for high-performance, precision-engineered products.
