We are seeking a Staff System Safety Engineer (SSE) to ensure our products are safe for warfighters. The SSE will perform hazard analysis in accordance with MIL-STD-882 and contractual requirements, recommend safety features, and develop safety documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct hazard analysis and recommend safety controls.
- Develop and support safety documentation.
- Collaborate with systems and software engineering teams.
- Mentor and train early career SSEs.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations.
- Develop hazard analyses and software safety assessments.
- Review specifications and design changes for safety impacts.
- Support customer and test/operational range requirements.
- Participate in accident investigations.
- Active Secret Clearance or Ability to Obtain
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- Experience with System Safety Programs (MIL-STD-882).
- Familiarity with implementing a Software Safety Program IAW AOP-52 and DoD guidelines
- Developing and evaluating system safety requirements.
- Experience with government Safety Review Boards.
- Knowledge of Human Factors Engineering.
- Familiarity with missile and launcher systems.
- Model-based engineering knowledge.
- Experience with DOORS requirements application.
