Our client, a renowned architectural and engineering consulting firm, is actively seeking a Licensed Structural Engineer with experience in repair and restoration projects, specializing in high-rise buildings and faade systems. This opportunity, based in their Jersey City, NJ office, offers the chance to contribute your technical expertise to impactful projects that shape the built environment.
As a Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in performing various types of inspections, testing, and producing plans, specifications, and reports for clients. This is a highly technical position that supports architectural and engineering projects, requiring a deep understanding of structural analysis, building codes, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Conduct on-site inspections, documenting existing conditions, performing field testing, photographing, and creating hand-sketches to observe and track work in progress.
Record accurate field measurements and perform calculations throughout the project duration.
Prepare professional written correspondence with clients and contractors, maintaining clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Understand investigation reports and bid documents to ensure accurate interpretation and implementation.
Communicate project status and proactively address any issues or discrepancies, escalating unresolved matters to supervisors as needed.
Maintain organized project records, files, drawings, and essential data for easy accessibility and future reference.
Collect post-project feedback to identify areas for improvement and contribute to the team's continuous growth.
Stay up-to-date with job knowledge and industry trends through educational workshops, professional publications, and active engagement in professional societies and networks.
Represent the company at events, seminars, and continuing education presentations, actively seeking marketing opportunities to promote the organization's presence in the industry.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
4 years of experience in the architectural / engineering consulting industry, with a focus on repair / restoration projects.
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) credential is required for consideration.
OSHA-10 Certification for New Jersey.
Valid U.S. Driver's License, as the role requires travel to client sites.
