What are the responsibilities and job description for the After-School Cooking and STEAM Instructor position at iCook After School?

Your Role :

Lead interactive after-school sessions centered around STEM (or STEAM) and / or cooking, using provided curriculum.
Foster an engaging and inclusive learning environment where students can actively participate in hands-on experiments and creative projects.
Inspire a lifelong passion for learning by encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork.

Our Ideal Candidate :

Brings experience working with children, whether in a school, camp, or similar setting, and is excited to make a positive impact on their educational journey.

Demonstrates effective classroom management skills, creating a safe and supportive atmosphere for students to learn and explore.

Values punctuality, reliability, and the opportunity to contribute to the enrichment of young minds.

Your Schedule and Pay :

Pay is $70 per class (class is 1 hour long)

Classes are currently running weekly on Mondays and Tuesdays at 3 : 50pm and run for 1 hour long

Program begins early / mid January and runs for 10 weeks

Potential opportunities to teach at other neighboring schools throughout the school year.

Cooking and STEAM classes are held in Bridgeport, CT at Classical Studies Magnet Academy

Lead dynamic after-school classes based on the curriculum we provide. We offer cooking and science classes, you can teach both of just one of the programs.

Cultivate a stimulating, inclusive and safe learning environment for students

Provide structured and hands on classes

What we are looking for candidates that :

Have experience working with children in diverse settings such as classrooms, enrichment programs, or community initiatives.

Have strong classroom management skills
