Job description
We are looking to fill a Production Support position here local in the High Desert area. The basic purpose of this position is to manually package products according to customer quality and product specifications using a variety of packaging equipment, transport packaged products to warehouse, and load this packaged product onto flatbed and van trucks for shipment to customers.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Packaging
1. Operates a variety of Packers making adjustments as necessary to maintain proper bag weights according to customer specifications
2. Follows established procedures to verify packaging scales once per shift
3. Follows established procedures for sampling products per quality standard
4. Follows established procedures for packaging and stacking patterns
5. Follows established procedures for product changeovers, calibration and adjustments to packers
6. Uses forklift to transport packaged material to warehouse for storage according to standard work procedures.
Truck Loading
- Operates a variety of forklifts to place packaged product onto flatbed and van trucks.
- Selects product from warehouse according to printed order information.
- Communicates with truck drivers regarding load placement and loading location.
- Operates order management computer system to process shipment.
- Records pertinent labor and/or production information from work shift.
