Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the pharmacy operations at a sterile compounding facility. The Pharmacy Technician's purpose is to serve patients, physicians, and partners with quality compounded medications in a timely manner. The technician will also be responsible as a team member to help maintain daily operations in the sterile compounding lab.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medication orders accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain inventory levels of medications and supplies, ensuring proper storage conditions.
- Enters prescription orders into the pharmacy order entry system, including verifying patient information and medication details.
- Identify problems with orders and notifies pharmacist when clarification is needed.
- Accurately compounds sterile admixtures utilizing aseptic technique and proper pharmaceutical procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care outcomes.
- Document all relevant information accurately in accordance with pharmacy policies and procedures.
- Inform pharmacist in the event of any issue that may affect quality and safety of the compound or that may affect customer service; and work with pharmacist to resolve potential issues.
Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Active Pharmacy Technician License in the state of Louisiana
- Ability to be dependable and punctual
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy practices, including experience as a pharmacy technician (hospital experience preferred but not required)
- Ability to demonstrate basic computer and phone skills
- Ability to handle patient information with accuracy and confidentiality
- Strong organizational skills to manage time, prioritize work, and multi-task
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to stand and wear personal protective equipment for extended periods of time while compounding
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
