Job Summary:
The Senior Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automation frameworks, self-service platforms, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions that enable efficient and scalable IT operations. This role focuses on automation, observability, infrastructure optimization, and DevOps practices, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of enterprise IT services.
The Senior Platform Engineer will collaborate with Platform Operations, Cloud, Security, and Development teams to create reusable platform solutions that improve service delivery and reduce manual operational burdens.
Key Responsibilities:
- Platform Development & Automation
- Design, develop, and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, Ansible, or Pulumi.
- Automate provisioning, configuration management, and deployments for cloud and on-premises environments.
- Develop self-service provisioning frameworks for compute, storage, and networking resources.
- Establish automation pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments (CI/CD).
- Reliability, Observability & Performance Optimization
- Implement SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) best practices to enhance system reliability and uptime.
- Develop observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or ELK Stack.
- Optimize platform performance, auto-scaling mechanisms, and cloud resource utilization.
- Cross-Team Collaboration & Integration
- Work closely with Platform Operations, Cloud, Security, and Development teams to align automation strategies.
- Integrate ServiceNow workflows with automated infrastructure provisioning and monitoring tools.
- Collaborate on API development for platform integrations and automation-driven workflows.
- Security, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure platform security by implementing role-based access controls (RBAC), network policies, and encryption mechanisms.
- Automate security compliance enforcement and cloud governance policies.
- Support vulnerability remediation efforts through automated patching and compliance scans.
- Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Research emerging technologies to improve scalability, resiliency, and automation capabilities.
- Develop internal best practices and documentation for platform automation and service management.
- Mentor junior engineers and participate in knowledge-sharing initiatives.
