Job Description:
ROLE: Functional Tester - Integrated Eligibility
REQUIRED SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Candidate must have at least 4-5 years of IT experience, of which the last 1 year is focused on end-to-end software testing, including creating and executing test scenarios, analyzing, and documenting
software defects based on stated requirements and design specifications.
• Knowledge of the public sector, specifically state government programs and applications.
• Good understanding of interpreting business requirements, system design, and creating compelling test scenarios
• Proficiency in at least one test case management and defect management tool.
• E.g., Microsoft Test Manager (MTM), HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), Quality Center (QC)
• End-to-end solid knowledge of SDLC (software development lifecycle) and STLC (software testing lifecycle) in waterfall as well as agile methodology
• Must be able to create SQL queries against an Oracle database when necessary to verify business scenarios have been met.
• Experience with data conversion environment involving legacy systems to the modern technology platform.
• Analyze test results against functional design and expected results.
• Manage defect creation, tracking, prioritization, and coordinate resolution with the development team and functional leads.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Ability to balance multiple task assignments
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Understanding of integrated eligibility worker portal and citizen-facing applications is a plus.
• Preference will be given to those familiar with government-integrated eligibility systems (Medicaid, SNAP/TANF, or Child Care).
• Testing Techniques - Understand the various approaches used in testing, including white-box, black-box, interface testing, coverage testing, and regression testing.
• Experience with methodologies including, but not limited to, Agile, RUP, Lean, or Waterfall
• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• Experience in creating and executing automation scripts using VBScript and tools such as TFS Coded UI, Selenium, or Microsoft Test Manager
