Location: Hoonah, Alaska | 9-Month On, 12-Month Paid Position

What You’ll Do:
✅ Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical gondola components.
✅ Ensure compliance with ANSI safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
✅ Stay trained on emergency response procedures, including rope evacuations.
✅ Work at heights and in extreme weather conditions to keep the gondola operational.
✅ Assist with procuring materials, maintaining records, and supporting special projects.
✅ Act as a leader in the absence of the Gondola Maintenance Supervisor/Lead.
What We’re Looking For:
✔ 5 years of experience in electrical or mechanical maintenance, repair, or related fields.
✔ Ability to climb, lift up to 100 lbs, and work at high elevations.
✔ Familiarity with tramway blueprints, hydraulics, wire ropes, and controls.
✔ Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and customer service skills.
✔ Willingness to live and work in a remote Alaskan community and travel via small plane or ferry.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior tramway maintenance experience.
Current Rope Access or Fall Protection certifications.
Experience with wire rope splicing and socketing.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
Outdoor work at high elevations, in all weather conditions.
Physically demanding tasks, including hiking trails, lifting heavy equipment, and working at heights.
Non-smoking facility with designated outdoor smoking areas.
