What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marine Mechanic position at Icy Strait Point?
The Marine Mechanic will perform repair work and maintenance for marine engines for our fleet of whale watching vessels, and other motors in the companys fleet.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Maintains marine motors, steering and hydraulic systems which may include a companys fleet of marine equipment.
- Performs routine and preventive maintenance as required for warranties at 100, 200 and 500 hours.
- Performs tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function.
- Identifies mechanical problems either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment.
- Examines critical parts and systems using a standard checklist.
- Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems.
- Plans and establishes timetable to complete repairs and maintenance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
