Position Overview:
The Accountant will support the finance team by performing various aspects related to the financial reporting cycle including, but not limited to, assisting with month-end close, the preparation of journal entries, and the preparation of account reconciliations and analyses.
Work Location: This role is an hybrid role at our Administrative Office in Scranton, PA.
Work Schedule: First Shift - Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm (2 days WFH, 3 days in-office)
Work Travel: 0% domestic travel.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in all phases of corporate accounting including but not limited to accruals, fixed assets, depreciation, prepaid, lease accounting, month-end, and year-end closing processes
- Assist in the execution of the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Conduct thorough account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
- Compile and analyze information to prepare journal entries for general ledger accounts per accounting standards and company policies
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation for all financial transactions.
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements
- Ensure internal control procedures and policies are being followed and communicate exceptions
- Assist with the preparation of other reports provided to management
- Assists with special projects on an as needed basis

Requirements:Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting,
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting or corporate accounting environment
- Knowledge of accounting concepts and principles
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to analyze a wide variety of data
- Self-motivated, strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Computer proficiency in MS Office, including intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Flexibility to meet department deadlines when necessary
- Ability to work in a growing, fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of accounting systems (SAP a plus)
