Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: GENERAL SUMMARY AND PURPOSE: Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, assists in the provision of pharmaceutical compounded products to various customers by complying with Federal, State, and U.S. Pharmacopeia requirements. This role is preserved for pharmacy technicians whose primary function is to perform sterile compounding. Practices within the scope of state and federal regulations. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a pharmacy technician required. Minimum of 2 (2) years of sterile compounding experience required. Licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy Pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam or accepted national certification program. Completed competencies in sterile compounding, including hazardous compounding. Previous lead experience preferred. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. Competent to work in the IV room, including performing high risk/hazardous compounding. Advanced understanding of current USP standards, documentation, and EMR compounding workflows. Provides some functional supervision of technicians. Ensures required departmental functions are completed to provide effective and efficient service. Assists the pharmacist in preparing medications, which includes various material resource management, dispensing, clerical, and billing duties. Precepting duties, as required for new hires and technician students. Mentors technicians in learning new tasks. Strives for and models exactness in following defined sterile procedure and aseptic technique. This position will provide the selected, Advanced Sterile Processing Tech the opportunity to float to key sites. There will be no nights, weekends, or holiday requirements.
