Employment Type: Full time Shift: Night Shift Description: GENERAL SUMMARY AND PURPOSE: Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, assists in the provision of pharmaceutical care to various customers by verifying the medication packaging process and outcomes. Practices within the scope of state and federal regulations. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician required. Licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Tech with the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy or Oregon Board of Pharmacy based on state worked. National Certification (CPhT, ExCPT or equivalent) required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. Assists the pharmacist in preparing prescriptions, which includes various material resource management, dispensing, clerical, and billing duties. Revenue management: ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients. Participates in quality assurance and continuous quality improvement activities. Understands the limitations to performing certain responsibilities of a registered technician in dispensing medications and remains within the scope of practice. Maintains competency to work in the IV room, including performing hazardous compounding. Provides some functional supervision of technicians. Ensures required departmental functions are completed to provide effective and efficient service. Assists the pharmacist in preparing medications, which includes various material resource management, dispensing, clerical, and billing duties. Precepting duties, as required for new hires and technician students. Mentors technicians in learning new tasks.
