What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2025-26 Kitchen Associate position at Idaho Arts Charter School (ID)?
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to read and understand measuring devices
- Ability to read and understand recipes and production records
- USDA Required Professional Standards, minimum of 6 hours of continuing education/training yearly and work toward obtaining SNA Certification Level 1, preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with all school personnel
- Valid Idaho driver’s license
- Required criminal history background check, physical, and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Major responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with the annual Co-op bid process
- Weekly, monthly, and annual food ordering
- Menu planning
- Monitor food, paper product, and equipment inventory
- Manage point of sale/inventory software (PrimeroEdge)
- Assist in preparation of food as assigned
- Ensure meals served meet USDA requirements for a reimbursable tray.
- Ensure that all kitchen tasks follow the District, State Dept. of Ed., USDA, and Idaho Food Code standards
- Log time, temperature, and amount of food prepared on production records
- Complete serving and cleaning duties as assigned
- Follow proper food handling to maintain food quality and ensure food safety
- Serve meals to adults and students through the line during service hours
- Use proper operation of equipment to assure safety and avoid damage to equipment
- Clean and sanitize all equipment properly
- Attend all required trainings and attain yearly professional standards training requirements
- Support the philosophy and mission of the and the Child Nutrition Department
- Other duties as assigned
