Overview
The Marketing Specialist is responsible for helping design and execute marketing campaigns and materials. Make recommendations for improvement for future campaigns to help achieve long- and short-term Credit Union goals.
Responsibilities
- Design marketing materials including but not limited to flyers, posters, and ads.
- Write copy for marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, and posters.
- Write copy for marketing collateral including but not limited to print materials and digital channels.
- Design and update marketing materials for officers.
- Proofread marketing collateral for errors and provide feedback.
- Have a knowledge of Credit Union products and services to be able to write content about them.
- Have a basic understanding of Compliance requirements for marketing Credit Union products and services.
- Coordinate printing and delivery of marketing materials.
- Update or design marketing requests from various departments.
- Assist branches with design, marketing, and collateral needs.
- Help execute marketing campaigns.
- Assist with new branch openings.
- Work with high school branches on promotional giveaways and supplies.
- Remove members from CUNA marketing mailings.
- Review newspaper ads for competitor advertising and ICCU mentions.
- Research for special projects – gathering data for recommendations.
- Provide back up and assistance to other Marketing team members, as needed.
- Represent the Credit Union at community events as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Advertising, or a related field. 0-4 years of experience in graphic design and copywriting. Desktop publishing skills including Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop required. Thorough proofreading skills. Copywriting skills. Math skills, basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office. Good written and oral communication skills. Ability to always maintain the confidentiality of Credit Union and member records.
Performance Standard:
A demonstrated cooperative and positive attitude toward members and other Credit Union staff. Professional in appearance, attendance, quality, and quantity of work performed. Ability to analyze member needs, develop, and coordinate marketing activities to fit member needs with Credit Union products and services. Must be willing to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by Idaho Central Credit Union. Team member will be asked to work extended/unique hours.
Position Specific Additional Physical Requirements:
- Lifting 70-80 pounds (items include money machine, coolers, tables, and other miscellaneous equipment).
- Local travel, where a company vehicle is provided.
- Adequate auto insurance for driving while conducting company business.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements:
- Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, collating, typing, counting cash, etc.).
- Sit for extended periods of time.
- Lift 20-40 pounds of applicable supplies including but not limited to copy paper, cash drawers, marketing material, etc.
- Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Reach keyboards.
- Ability to operate basic office machines (calculator, computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).
