Job Description
The Shop Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of IFG Services, embodying strong leadership skills and an extensive understanding of all department processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Train and evaluate team members on job responsibilities, safety, work practices, and company policies.
- Manage Planning and Scheduling, and Repair & Maintenance (R&M) work.
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on customer orders and inventory levels.
- Adjust schedules to accommodate changes in demand, material availability, and production capacity.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure schedules are feasible and align with overall manufacturing goals.
- Liaise with procurement, logistics, and production teams to coordinate production activities.
- Develop contingency plans to minimize disruptions to production schedules.
- Produce job packets, including Bill of Materials (BOM), work instructions, quality control checks, equipment setup and calibration, traceability information, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop product routes based on customer design for cost-effective manufacturing, estimating accurate operation sequence setup and run times.
- Oversee detailed and competitive quotes for clients based on cost estimates, ensuring accuracy and profitability.
- Identify opportunities to enhance cost estimation and scheduling processes using new tools and methodologies.
- Maintain detailed records of cost estimates, quotes, and related communications for future reference and analysis.
- Visit IFG Mill Sites to increase work orders and sales.
- Conduct risk assessments and technical reviews on assigned quotes with support from the review team.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Schedule crew including overtime, projects, vacations, absences, etc.
- Exhibit proactive leadership that fosters teamwork and enhances IFG culture and standards.
- Organize cross-training programs for employees to maintain consistent production levels.
- Assist upper management with establishing shop metrics and maintain regular communication.
- Create, update, and oversee adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain a clean and organized department and plant site.
- Ensure accurate timekeeping.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of lead or supervisory experience in manufacturing.
- 5 years of experience in fabrication, machining, and construction.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Skilled in prioritizing tasks and delegating appropriately.
- Effective working independently and collaboratively.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test, post-offer pre-employment physical, and background check.
Pay Range
$80,000 - $110,000, Depending on ExperiencePhysical Demands
