JOB DESCRIPTION: Hepatology Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)
REPORTS TO: APP Lead
DEFINITION OF POSITION: We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join our team dedicated to the management of acute and chronic liver disease. This role includes outpatient responsibilities focused on hepatology. The APP will work closely with our board-certified hepatologist to provide exceptional patient care. You will collaborate with other healthcare professionals, a team spirit, positive attitude, and strong work ethic are required. Critical thinking and good communication are a must.
Responsibilities:
• Manage a wide variety of liver-related conditions independently
• Collaborate with our hepatologist to co-manage complex cases
• Order diagnostic testing and interpretation including FibroScans
• Inform patients about their health conditions and provide education to both patients and their family members on their disease process
Skills:
• Experience in one of the following subspecialties preferred: Hepatology, gastroenterology, ER, cardiology, family health or urgent care
• Knowledge of health and patient care regulations
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong work ethic
• Willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience
• Valid, unencumbered licensure in the state of Idaho
• Master's degree, PhD is a plus
• Experience in Epic, eMR a plus
