What are the responsibilities and job description for the Document Control Specialist position at Idaho National Laboratory?
Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Document Control Specialist to work in our Information Storage and Retrieval department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our IAB / WCB facility with every other Friday off. Hybrid work opportunities may be available for this position.
You will develop manual / automated system(s) to accommodate (e.g., collect, organize, and categorize) both active and historical records. Primary focus is on creating processes that provide maintenance of records to ensure auditability, proof of performance, and preserve corporate memory. Emphasis is placed on record copy capture, indexing and maintenance. You will report to the lead for Information Storage and Retrieval department.
Responsibilities Include :
- Provide primary support and responsibility for the daily operation and technical processes of document / record management systems and associated applications.
- Perform document and records systems application and data administration.
- Help with installations of software, troubleshooting, and resolving issues for customers.
- Coordinate activities with records management systems including system upgrades and system administration.
- Identify process automation, user experience, and system improvements for multiple record management applications.
- Perform customer testing of improvements and enhancements to systems and support Lab-wide document control and records management processes.
- Provide software management and oversight for the review, training, implementation, documentation, and assessment of document and records software systems.
- Responsible for documenting issues and submitting service requests for software engineering support.
- Provide guidance and recommendations for information and records management programs to enhance current processes and tools to ensure customer needs and contractual requirements are met.
- May develop customer training materials, guidance documents and required quality procedures to support program applications.
- Provide direction and assistance to programs for document management and configuration control process expectations and requirements.
