Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a project hire Electrical Drafter to work in our Power Maintenance department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Central Facilities west of Idaho Falls with every Friday off.
You will support the Power Maintenance team by preparing and revising high voltage electrical drawings. You will report directly to the manager of the Power Maintenance department.

On-Site Worker
You will support the Power Maintenance team by preparing and revising high voltage electrical drawings. You will report directly to the manager of the Power Maintenance department.
Responsibilities Include
- Prepare complex new drawings and perform drawing changes consistent with company and nationally recognized procedures and standards.
- Help determine drawing elements i.e., dimensions, part/component selection, tolerance, and design and process parameters. Evaluate design input from project engineers working with design engineers.
- May contribute design modification ideas to improve the quality of the product or facilitate construction/fabrication.
- Provide field/as-building documentation support.
- Maintain a working knowledge of AutoCAD and other modeling software.
- Occasionally collaborate with professionals outside of home organization.
- Report progress appropriately to project and line management.
- Level 2: High school diploma, or equivalent, and 2 years of relevant experience.
- Level 3: High school diploma, or equivalent, and 4 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of drafting techniques.
- Knowledge of and experience using nationally recognized standards (e.g., ANSI, ASME, MIL-STD, etc.)
- Understanding of Electrical/instrumentation drawings.
- Experience reviewing and interpreting ANSI/ASME Y14 Drafting standards.
- Experience with high voltage (138kV and 13.8kV) drawings is preferred.
- The pay range for this position is: Level 2 ($25.79/hr - $42.54/hr) / Level 3 ($30.17 - $49.78).. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
