Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) Audit and Ethics team is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as an Internal Audits and Ethics Auditor. Our team works a hybrid 9x80 schedule located at our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off! Performs highly sophisticated audit and review work. Work involves financial, operational, and compliance audits, process improvements, and risk assessments. Directs the performance of audit procedures, identifies and defines issues, researches criteria, reviews and/or analyzes audit evidence, verifies evidence, and documents procedures. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This position reports to the Chief Audit Executive. - Oversees and performs internal audits and subcontract reviews at the direction of the Chief Audit Executive. - Acts or oversees the first level review of engagements. - Ensures that division assignments and resulting reports are being conducted in a timely manner - Develops audit programs and internal control questionnaires. - Oversees and/or prepares audit reports, including summaries, findings, and recommendations. - Assembles working papers. - Uses independent technical judgment and identifies, develops, and documents audit exceptions. - Provides input into the assessment of staff performance and development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business, Management, Public Administration, or related field. - Ten years of dynamically responsible experience in accounting or auditing, including supervisory experience. - Demonstrated experience working within Audit and/or Accounting, ideally within a government, federal contractor, or federal grant environment. Preferred Requirements: - Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor(CISA), Certified Fraud Examiner(CFE), or other audit-related professional certification is preferred.
