What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paralegal position at Idaho National Laboratory?
Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Paralegal to work in our Office of General Counsel department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls, Idaho facility with every other Friday off.
You will provide transactional, administrative and litigation support under the direction of an attorney. You will report to the Deputy General Counsel and will work on-site.
Responsibilities Include:
- Perform legal research as directed by attorneys.
- Track deadlines for litigation or transactional legal matters.
- Help manage and maintain documents related to patents and/or litigation. Initiate and prepare documentation for filing. Prepare and file applications, submit appropriate documents and update case files. Initiate and prepare all correspondence. Maintain files.
- Prepare assignment, declaration, powers of attorney, and other legal forms under the direction of an attorney and interface with inventors, management, and others to obtain as requested. Identify risks and propose alternative methods to mitigate risks involved in potential transactions.
- Evaluate discovery requests and conduct document searches for relevant records. Communicate with laboratory custodians for production of other records. Identify, compile, index, review for privilege and supply compliant documents, data, electronic items, or records as directed by an attorney.
- Communicate with outside counsel as directed by an attorney.
- May support General Counsel on administration of out-of-state workers' compensation coverage, auto liability, D&O coverage, ERISA crime policy, fiduciary policies, and general liability claims. May adjust auto liability claims. May support administration of the employee arbitration program and acquisition of insurance policies as part of the laboratory's risk management program.
- Assist attorneys with other tasks as assigned.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Certified as a paralegal or bachelor's degree.
- High School or equivalent and 6 years of paralegal experience, with 3 years in the relevant legal area to which paralegal will be assigned (if any).
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
- Ideally you will have trial experience, experience using Microsoft 365 e-discovery and experience using Relativity.
Job Information:
- The pay range for this position is $35.30 min - $58.23 max. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
