Idaho Power Company (IPC) — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a temporary System Administrator, Senior, or LSO to join our Power Supply team. What does a System Administrator, Senior, or LSO do for us?
The focus of this role is specific to Operational Technology (OT) and requires an in-depth knowledge of IT/OT blended environments. A System Administrator analyzes, installs, configures, upgrades, tests, documents, monitors, and maintains software and hardware in support of business processing requirements. The supported systems may include operating systems, business applications, server hardware, security tools, monitoring tools, web servers, application servers, integration servers, and other departmental or enterprise applications or systems. They provide technical support for problems specific to our 24/7 Operations Technology environment.
In addition, a Senior System Administrator participates in the development and execution of technology strategies to support organizational activities and direction. They provide advanced-level support for systems; including troubleshooting, performance, monitoring, cost-benefit, security, and licensing analysis. They stay aware of industry trends, business requirements, and technical design methodologies to aid in the development of creative/innovative IT/OT solutions.
An LSO System Administrator also analyzes, installs, configures, upgrades, tests, documents, monitors, and maintains software and hardware in support of business processing and power grid supporting Operational Technology (OT) requirements for the LSO. They demonstrate knowledge and expertise in system administration of infrastructure, power grid applications, and support systems that are required to support mission critical control environments. This includes proficiency in individual areas of expertise as well as support for a wide breadth of technology.
This position will primarily support the Single Vendor Platform (SVP) project, a multi-year effort to unify our Energy Management System (EMS), Outage Management System (OMS), and Distribution Management System (DMS). The successful candidate will be a key player in developing, testing, and deploying integrations, configuring systems and applications specific to our internal customers’ needs, and supporting and maintaining a high security posture across our environments. Additional responsibilities may include Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) compliance tasks, EMS and peripheral application user support, and general business on-call duties.

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, or a related field
- 2 or more years of relevant technology administration experience
- 4 or more years of relevant technology administration experience
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position
- Certification relevant to position, ITIL Foundation Certificate, Microsoft MCSA, Redhat RHCSA
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, CIS (Computer Information Systems), or equivalent field
- An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, CIS (Computer Information Systems), cyber security or a related field
- 5 or more years of professional technology administration experience
- 8 or more years' experience in a Corporate Multi-platform Technology environment
- Certification relevant to position, ITIL Foundation Certificate, Microsoft MCSE, Redhat RHCE, Microsoft Azure Administrator, CISSP, CCNP (Network)
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in related technology field
- An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience

- 7 years of professional Technology Administration experience including 3 years of experience in power grid systems
