Actuarial Associate / Actuary at Intermountain Health in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description Job Description : Provides direction and oversight of the development and maintenance of all necessary data, analyses, tools, reports, rating and reimbursement structures, etc., needed to support the products and services offered and the associated business decisions. Job Essentials 1. Provides direction and oversight of product design and rating structures for new and existing products and all associated internal / external systems and state filing requirements. 2. Coordinates and develops all required rate and compliance certifications. 3. Provides direction and oversight for the development and maintenance of analysis, forecasting, and reporting of claims experience and trends, both in aggregate and various components. 3. Analyzes and develops financial statement reserves and other liabilities, contingent settlements, incentive and risk-share payments, reinsurance claims and other third-party claims and liabilities, etc. 4. Provides input and support for internal and external audits and reporting. 5. Provides direction and oversight of development and maintenance of analysis, forecasting, and reporting of budget projection inputs, both in aggregate and various components. 6. Analyzes, develops, and maintains administrative expense models. 7. Provides direction and oversight of development, analysis, and reporting of facility, physician, and other provider reimbursement structures, models and service utilization information. 8. Coordinates and develops Retiree Drug Subsidy data reporting and submissions. 9. Designs, develops, and maintains data extracts and complex queries and on-line data analysis and reporting tools. 10. ASA and eight years of relevant actuarial experience or FSA and five years of relevant actuarial experience. - and - Intermediate skills with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and analytic software (e.g. SQL, SAS, etc.). Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of health insurance products. - and - Understanding of underlying theory and effects of assumptions used in product development and maintenance.
