- Performing entry-level technical highway maintenance and engineering work
- Operating a variety of power tools and light and heavy highway and construction equipment
- Conducting routine inspections and field tests on construction and maintenance projects
- Performing entry-level traffic services activities such as striping and replacing and repairing traffic signs and posts
