Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture. Summary We currently have a Chemical Engineering / Chemistry Intern position in the Mining & Manufacturing department of Simplot. This role will be focused on supporting the mining of phosphate ore and production of phosphate and ammonia based fertilizers from the Frontier Building in Pocatello, ID. This role is expected to be involved with the development of new products / processes and refinements of existing processes. The role will be tailored depending on if the successful applicant is working towards a Chemical Engineering or Chemistry degree. The position is a full-time internship starting 2025. The preference is for an internship lasting at least 7 months. Key Responsibilities Duties provide meaningful work experience and business knowledge to college students in pursuit of a Chemical Engineering or Chemistry degree. - Performs routine aspects of chemical engineering / chemistry requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering / chemistry principles under close supervision - May use computer-assisted software and equipment to perform engineering / chemistry tasks - Assists with lab and pilot-scale testing and evaluation occurring both indoors and outdoors - Collects and prepares data for evaluation. - May assist in the coordination of projects from conception (feasibility) through final plan preparations - Handles various administrative duties - Provides support to staff members as needed - May provide support for multiple facilities across the Mining & Manufacturing business unit located in California, Idaho, Neveda, Utah, and Wyoming Typical Education - Working toward a BS in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry Relevant Experience - Strong attention to detail - Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team environment - Able to keep up in a fast paced work environment - Fluent in Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel Other Information Enrollment in an Academic Engineering program, from a nationally accredited educational facility / univer To view full details and how to apply, please login or create a Job Seeker account
