The Role The Computer Operations Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, scheduling, and support of our mainframe systems. This role requires an understanding of mainframe technologies, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. It is responsible for the scheduling and running of our legacy programs in a mainframe environment. Location and Schedule This is a Work From Home position. The Team operates 24 / 7 / 365. There are 3 shifts which are 8 hours x 5 days. Candidates must be able to work any shift on a rotation basis. You must reside in one of these states for consideration. Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Idaho, Minnesota, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming The Main Responsibilities Schedules and controls computer runs and / or executes batch-oriented programs in a large-scale computer processing environment. Conducts exception monitoring and problem resolution for batch runs in MVS, Integrated Access Billing Systems (IABS), Onlines, Information Management System (IMS) Control Regions, IMF, CICS, and MQ, as well as some Midrange applications. Applies computer production schedule, ensures user requirements have been met and that resources are available, prioritizes jobs, modifies production schedule as needed, and modifies job control language / execs.
